Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) affects nearly every cell in the body. It is an antioxidant, protecting cells from free radical damage. ALA helps B vitamins convert protein, fats and carbohydrates into energy which the body can store for later use. It is easily absorbed into the tissues in the brain, nerves and liver, where its antioxidant properties help these areas function properly. It is manly found in meats (particularly liver), spinach and brewer’s yeast.
